Skin, hand and body care for women over 50 years old
Skin, hand and body care for women over 50 years old. I see every day how my skin, hands and skin age. At the age of 50, the woman notices that her body is going through transformations that no one wants. Aging is an irreversible process that no one can stop. We can try to slow it down, because it is not pleasant to know that you were a very beautiful woman and suddenly you go through all kinds of changes that will show your true age. Skin hand body care?
I haven’t turned 50 yet (I will turn in September), but I see every day how my skin, hands and skin age. I have wrinkles, white hairs, my nails are more fragile, I have to wear glasses when reading. It is not easy for a woman to accept that she is no longer young and that she has to live for the rest of her life with wrinkles on her face and wrinkled skin from aging.
Taking care of my body
I have tried all kinds of skin, hand and body care products for women over 50 years old. Some cost an arm and leg, but did not have the effect we expected. A 60-year-old doctor friend recently told me that the most false advertisements are for wrinkle creams. I was right. I can see with my own eyes that some have no effect.
But I don’t want to give up taking care of my body either. I know I can’t stop aging, but I can try to slow down the process. I have formed a routine and I try not to deviate from it. After many attempts, I decided what care products I would use for my body. They may not be the most expensive or best care products on the market, but they fit me perfectly.
What is the best skin care line for over 50?
After the age of 50, the skin becomes very dry and needs additional care. I chose to use the Body Repair lotion from Garnier Body for the body. It is a milk recommended for extra-dry skin – anti-dryness restoring lotion. The lotion is anti-tightness and anti-roughness. Due to this non-greasy lotion that is absorbed very quickly into the skin, I noticed the improvements in my skin. The skin no longer looks like it is wrinkled, I no longer feel it tightening and no longer exfoliating excessively. I use it twice a day. It is the best moisturizer that works for me.
I also use Garnier Skin Active. I will give details about this moisturizer with rose water later.
How do you make your old eyes look younger?
I work a lot on the computer. My eyes get tired, red and dark circles appear. In order to make them look younger, every night, when I finish my work schedule, I pay special attention to my eyes. I formed a ritual. See it:
I take a very short shower with warm water (you should never wash with hot water).
I wrap myself in towels and let the skin dry on its own, without rubbing it with the towel.
First of all, I take care of my eyes and skin.
It offers me 5-10 minutes of relaxation in which I lie on the bed. I cover my eyes with fresh slices of cucumber. It’s a trick I learned from my grandmother. The result is spectacular.
Face and body care as a routine
I generously use Garnier Skin Active cream (it is a botanical balm soothing moisturizer) on my face. It is an innovative 3-in-1 formula for day and night care. It can also be used as a mask. This cream leaves my skin feeling soft and refreshed. The skin has a discreet scent of roses.
For the body, I use Garnier milk, Body Repair, every night. I anoint my whole body with cream and then put on cotton pajamas. In the morning my skin looks fresh and I feel invigorated, ready to start a new day of work. Don’t forget to anoint yourself with cream, including on the heels.
I repeat this procedure every morning and every evening and I am very happy with the results. Of course, a woman’s skin will never be +50 years old as it was at 20. All we women can do is take care of her as best we can to slow down the aging process to look younger than we are.
How I take care of the skin of my hands
The hands are those that betray the age of man. We should be very careful about our hands. It’s hard, because hands are people’s tools. We use them in every moment of life. But there are some tricks that can slow down the aging of the skin on the hands.
I always use gloves when walking with detergents. Do the same, please.
I don’t spend too much time in the sun, but only 10-15 minutes to take my daily dose of vitamin D.
Once a week I use glycerin for my hands.
In the morning, after washing and anointing my body with cream, I take care of the skin of my hands. For this I also use Garnier Body Repair.
I always wear gloves in winter, even if in Scotland the weather is not as cold as it was in Romania.
In the evening, at bedtime, I always put plenty of cream and wear cotton gloves.
Tips and tricks on how I take care of my 50 year old skin
I tried all kinds of exfoliation solutions. The internet is full of tips on this. But I realized that the forced exfoliation hurt my skin. +50 women have thin, smooth and very sensitive skin. I chose not to hurt my skin anymore. I can exfoliate it without harming if I wash it with warm water and a soap that contains cream, such as the ones from Dove.
Also, although I take a shower twice a day, I use soap only for areas where the body starts to smell bad faster. Only once every 2-3 days I wash my whole body with soap. It may seem strange and uncivilized, but I guarantee you that my skin does not smell bad, is not dirty and especially does not age prematurely due to soaps.
You remember that the skin needs daily care, especially over the age of 50. The easiest is if you form a routine that you do not deviate from.
I take great care of my diet
I try to eat fatty fish and lean meat. One meal of meat a day.
I eat very little bread, usually black. Pasta is more suitable, because it can be eaten instead of bread and is more suitable for health. Cook al dente pasta, like the Italians.
I eat a lot of vegetables and fruits. My favorite is raspberries.
I drink a lot of water.
Probably my skin would have looked much better if I hadn’t smoked and drink coffee. This habit destroys our skin, ladies. Unfortunately, I can’t quit smoking.
I hope you find my advice useful
You can also try Garnier Body Repair or Garnier Skin Active, which for me is the best anti aging cream for over 50. Nobody pays me to write about Skin, hand and body care for women over 50 years old. I do it because I’m there, I know what it means to see your skin age and not know what is the best moisturizer for 50 year old woman.
I buy skin, hand and body care products for women over 50 years old from Tesco. If you live in the UK, you can pick them up at the supermarket. If it’s easier for you, you can find stores on the internet where to order them. If you need tips on make up, read this blog.

I know exactly what you are talking about! I am 58 and all for taking whatever help I can in the way of creams and good food. It’s my intention to live to 110 years – I’m only just half way there and I want to look young and vibrant.
Funnily enough, I was just saying to my husband that the Garnier Intensive 7 Days body lotion is the best on the market! We have been using it all druing lockdown and his skin looks amazing! I must check out some of their other products.
Thanks for the cucumber reminder! I absolutely agree, it also makes the whites of your eyes super-white.
Looking forward to checking out more of your content.
Best,
Jean
You managed to make me laugh. It’s a good philosophy of life, which I will adopt. I want to live 100 years too, so I’m only halfway through my life.
I’m so glad I met you. I will follow you on the blog.

I really need to make and effort to moisturize more, I’m terrible for remembering to do so! Plus the chemicals I use at work dry my hands out something horrendous.
I know what you are talking about. I worked for a bakery for 2 and a half years. I had to wash my hands 20 times a day with those powerful solutions that destroyed my skin.
I have most definitely noticed that I need to give my skin more attention since reaching my 40s. I’m a huge fan of Liz Earle products – cruelty free and really suits my sensitive skin.
I’m glad to have you with me. Although I live in the UK, I still have a lot to learn. By the way, this is the first time I’ve heard of Liz Earle.
I will be 40 at the end of this year. It is only recently that I have even thought about looking after my skin! I have started to moisturise more often and also started to take more vitamins.
I try to get the necessary vitamins from fruits and vegetables. I know that excess vitamins are not good for the human body.
Some really great advice here! I’m nowhere near 50 yet but it’s good to see these recommendations anyway. Your diet sounds amazing!
exactly what you need when the years begin to take their toll on you
Great article on how to look after your skin and body. I think diet is the most important thing in looking and feeling youthful
Diet, eating lots of fresh produce and drinking plenty of water makes the biggest difference to my skin. Its interesting that you only need 15 mins per day for your vitamin D.
I enjoyed this read. I don’t think you’re ever too young to start taking care of your skin! I love to put cucumber on my eyes too!
Very nice piece of advice!
Oooh such lovely tips here. I like the sound of the garnier milk for the body. Will defo give that one a try 🙂
I love natural products and a lady I know has her own company called Beeutiful and she makes everything herself. It is really moisturising and hydrating, perfect for dry or dehydrated skin plus kind to the planet.
Very useful, I’m 35 and I’ve tried to keep a routine for myself and my skin.
